A campsite,
Jaunaraji, has been opened in Latvia's Valmiera district. It
can accommodate 40 people in five two-storey houses. The
construction of the campsite was supported by SAPARD funds. It
has two saunas for up to 20 people and a hall for banqueting
for up to 40 people. The owner of Jaunaraji, Sandra Leite,
says that the campsite hopes to attract those who love nature
and enjoy sports. In winter, skiers are often guests at the
campsite as it is close to the Baili sports complex. She hopes
that in summer vacationers will appreciate the nature paths
along the rivers Abula and Gauja and a sports area for
volleyball, streetball and football. There is also a place for
boats and plenty of space for pitching tents.
